'No one wanted a semi-feral cat': A once matriarch of a stray cat colony finds a friend in her rescuer's doggo, who begged his hooman to keep her after all her kittens went to furrever families

Well, that makes purrfect sense. She is the dog's cat, after all.

We're not opposed to dogs at all, in fact, we think they're adorable. They just don't fit our lifestyle as much as cats do. But one of the thing we love about dogs is that they love everyone and everything, even cats! We're not even entertaining the outdated stereotype of cats and doggos being mortal enemies, and this wholesome story purractically proves it. Buckle up, because it's quite a journey.

Banana, our stray cat, was once the head of a feral colony in the pawrent's neighborhood. After some time earning her trust, they were able to get her inside, only to discover that she was pregnant! Too weak to get spayed, they were advised by a vet to wait until after her birth to get her fixed. All the kittens went to loving homes, but no one wanted poor Banana. Kittens are easily adoptable, but a semi-feral momma cat, not so much. 

During her time at the hooman's house, her and the pawrent's doggo developed a beautiful friendship. Admittedly "not a cat person", the pawrent originally wanted to give them up for adoption, but after their doggo showed how much he missed Banana, they couldn't resist keeping her. As you'll see below, the two are as thick as thieves, often seen grooming each other and cuddling. There's nothing more heartwarming than the purrre love between two unlikely friends.

Although Banana's story is a heartwarming one, we want to remind you that there are many older cats in need of adoption in shelters just like Banana. They might not be as cute as a kitten, but they are just as loving. Give them a chance, they might just change your life.

  • You can see here that Banana is very upset that her soon-to-be hooman is late for dinner. Even if the cat isn't yours, they can still boss you around. That's the real moral of the story here.

    my first choice for a pet. Regardless I go all out to make sure their needs are met. It's taken three years for Banana to completely come out of her shell, but now she lays in my lap for pets and sleeps in bed next to my pillow.

  • Look at them together! That's so heartwarmingly wholesome. She'll never admit to loving it, but we're sure she loves his grooming efforts. We wouldn't even be surprised if Banana showed him her belly every once in a while. But only for approximately three belly rubs, and then it's a no-touchy-zone.

Kind of like you got a boss, the lieutenant, and dog the muscle. She chose you and it's good you took care of her and accepted your servant fate.     Tankgirl556 That's very humane to feed the ferals when you dislike cats, and even more kind to rescue her. I wish more people like you existed. Cat haters are more abundant than most people realize. I think it's because cats aren't submissive like dogs are.
